It has long, medium and short cones. Each cone sees a range of colours (e.g. short can see from violet to blue) rather than a single colour. Violet is a very good example because it contains no red, no green, and it's not blue. It's a shorter wavelength (higher frequency) than pure blue.

And yes, RGB televisions can not reproduce pure violet. Only a muddy approximation which is more purple than violet.Nathan Handhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04020718462736295045noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4840253472679669200.post-58266678868228735592010-12-28T21:46:18.129+00:002010-12-28T21:46:18.129+00:00Anon - I think that's Spock you're thinkin...Anon - I think that's Spock you're thinking of.

Hikaru Sulu, being human (specifically Japanese from Pikiweedia as I type,) is perfectly capable of telling lies.

As the actor who played him demonstrates above.PJHhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11331948749785269728noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4840253472679669200.post-26363964368591974182010-12-28T21:35:50.513+00:002010-12-28T21:35:50.513+00:00lieutenant sulu would not tell a fib!lieutenant sulu would not tell a fib!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4840253472679669200.post-14450331860137887222010-07-07T13:11:14.918+01:002010-07-07T13:11:14.918+01:00If you can see a T.V advert on your current T.V th...If you can see a T.V advert on your current T.V that is good enough to make you wish to buy the advertised product, then it is good enough not to need the new one.Furor Teutonicushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13856575077967523322noreply@blogger.com
